It’s been a while since I’ve put pen to paper, 2022 certainly hasn’t disappointed so far. We have had one of the busiest years and the pace of work has been something to reckon with.

Burnham Portable Toilet Hire Celebrate 30 Years in Business 2022

outdoor portable toilet hire somersetEvents have well and truly been welcomed back with a bang, we have seen some of our favourite events which we have supplied for years back and in full swing. It has been a pleasure to supply to these and see the hustle and bustle of life again, seeing folk enjoy themselves, have fun and let their hair down is a beautiful thing to see, it has been sorely missed indeed.

As a business we have been inundated with calls of supplying to new customers and events, the main reason being many in the portable toilet industry are now not supplying to events and solely only now supplying to the construction industry. I do believe this is a direct impact from Covid and not knowing where the money will be coming from, also the business is very competitive and believe it or not I have so many people quibble over the price of toilets. I mean it’s one of those things you need to host an event, but yet individuals are not willing to provide the best facilities.

We pride ourselves on the cleanliness and service we provide, and the feedback we receive speaks volumes, yet it’s an industry that’s overlooked and underpaid. I mean who wants to use a yucky toilet, no one right?

Sedgemoor Council portable toilets for Burnham on Sea Seafront

We kicked off the year by supplying Sedgemoor Council with our toilets for Burnham on Sea Seafront, whilst they revamped the public toilets. We took on the task of daily cleans and maintenance whilst this project was underway. This took us well into June, the feedback from locals and holiday makers were priceless, many asking for them to stay all year round. It was lovely to have this contract on our doorstep and provide a much-needed facility for the locals.

April 2022 and still pumping poo after 30 years!

In April we also celebrated 30 years of our business running, something we are so proud of, we have been around long enough to see people come and go, the foundations that were laid by Steve and Jackie, company owners, well that’s a force to be reckoned with, and have certainly paved the way forward for us as a company. We didn’t have time to celebrate this big birthday, but hopefully we will do something later in the year to mark the occasion. 30 years of pumping poo is not for the faint hearted.

As a business we also faced the task of recruiting! The truth is we have tight, small team, for which we are blessed and something I am grateful for every day. One of our drivers Mark was retiring this year, so the position had to be filled. In all the years of doing this, we could just not find anyone who wanted to work! I was inundated with applicants and would arrange interviews and then they would not show up. This happened on several occasions and I was all about ready to give up, then, just like that, our newest recruit Dobby knocked on the door and wanted a job! Not only is he super and we have found ourselves a hard worker, he has fitted into the role just perfect. We wish Mark many happy years of retirement and thank him for all his hard work.

We have continued to keep up with the momentum of our commitments to the construction industry, supplying customers new and old with site portable toilets and waste services, such as septic tanks and water refills. The construction industry is continuing to be hit with lack of supplies, again a knock effect from lockdowns.

Inflation has gone through the roof; I mean what business and indeed human beings has not been affected. Fuel went through the roof, alongside consumables we use on a daily basis, toilet rolls have increased by a whopping 30 % this is due to paper not being made. As a company we have tried our hardest to keep our prices as reasonably priced as possible. Not always an easy task as lots of people presume it should be a cheap thing, but we all have running costs.

Pride and Festival Toilet Hire Somerset and Weston-super-Mare

July 2022, what a month! We welcomed back two of our favourite events which have not been held since 2019.

Pride weston super mare 2022 portable toilet hire

Weston Super Mare Pride, was back with a bang, bringing colour and love to those all around. This small-town event works it’s socks off to be up there and showcase Weston Super Mare. It also has a very tight turn around in delivery and collection, so it’s one that takes planning and hard work. The Loocrew were in full swing at this event, providing services throughout and late-night finishes on the Sunday. It was a wonderful weekend for all those that attended.

There was no time to rest with Godney Gathering the following weekend. We provide all toilets for Garslade Farm, the camping part of the weekend. Bridget the host and owner of Garslade Farm, sure knows how to look after her guests. She asked us to provide services and cleans the entire weekend, fresh, clean, sparkly toilets is what they got. We certainly used some toilet rolls that weekend.

Festival Somerset Godney Gathering 2022 portable toilet hire

The Loocrew mixed a little business with pleasure and once the toilets were all cleaned, they took to the Gathering to enjoy a little R and R. This year’s headliners were The Lightning Seeds, it was a super-hot weekend, but so lovely to see it back in action.

That brings me onto the mighty Loocrew, as a business you are only as good as the people around you. Well, our team is the best, that’s a fact. They continue to go above and beyond for us on a daily basis, we have super feedback constantly in regards to how the team conduct themselves and the customer service they provide. They have dug deep at times to keep up with the pace of the business, for that I am truly thankful.

Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people.
