Portable Toilet Hire for Glastonbury Camping

Fields around Glastonbury can become temporary camping and glamping areas for Festival ticket holders, giving landowners and campsite operators an intensive and unpredictable job for a few days each year. Guests see the festival tents, parking and facilities; behind them are arrangements for toilets, handwashing, waste, vehicle access, servicing and collection.

Affordable Local Somerset Liquid Waste Removal

Burnham Portable Toilet Hire is a family-run Somerset company with Glastonbury experience reaching back to the early 1990s. Back in the day, Jackie and Steve’s earlier work included supplying toilets to food vendors at the Festival itself!
In 2026, our operational experience supports the smaller independent camps and glamping sites around Glastonbury.

Portable Toilets for Independent Glastonbury Camping and Glamping Sites

The phrase “Glastonbury campsite” can cover several different arrangements. Some guests camp within the Festival’s own facilities, while other visitors choose independently run accommodation outside the main Festival site. Glastonbury Festival itself warns that unofficial off-site camping is independently operated and says it cannot endorse every site, so operators running their own accommodation need to make their arrangements and responsibilities clear to guests.

Before a quotation is prepared, the useful questions are straightforward: how many guests are staying, how many nights will the field be occupied, what other facilities are present, where do vehicles enter and turn, and when can servicing take place? Those details help determine the equipment, vehicle and servicing arrangement that suits the site.

Why a Local Somerset Toilet Company Can Matter When Fuel Costs Are Rising

Fuel is a very visible cost for any business that operates service vehicles. On 28 September 2026, the RAC reported an average UK diesel price of 199.18 pence per litre, the highest recorded UK average at that point and above the previous 2022 record.

A portable toilet quote includes more than the units themselves. Delivery, vehicle time, servicing journeys, collection and waste transport all sit inside the logistics. A Somerset supplier may therefore have an advantage on travel distance for a local campsite, although the actual price depends on the site, dates, unit numbers and servicing requirements.

That is why field-entrance measurements matter. A gate can look generous in a photograph and feel very different when a service vehicle is actually at the entrance.

Our Glastonbury Experience Goes Back More Than Three Decades

Burnham Portable Toilet Hire’s Glastonbury connection reaches back to the early 1990s, when Steve and Jackie were involved in supplying portable toilets around the Festival, including facilities for food vendors. Our family logistics have a supplier advantage compared to a National company: We know the local’s short cuts and the Glasto layout, traffic hotspots and the fastest route to the commercial partner entrance.

The family remembers those early Festival years as a very different logistical exercise. Deliveries had to be planned around a large temporary operation, access was complicated and vehicle movements required careful coordination. Those same countryside realities still matter at smaller surrounding camps: field entrances, rural lanes, changing ground conditions, delivery schedules and regular servicing.
